We will look at the experiences of the development of national open educational resources (OER) strategies in the Netherlands, Poland and Brazil and discuss what lessons can be learned to support further expansion of OER globally.

The basics of OER will be reviewed followed by a discussion of lessons learned from:

  • the Wikiwijs Project in the Netherlands which is an initiative of the Dutch Government
  • OER-Br, a coalition advocating for OER policy and projects in Brazil
  • the Coalition for Open Education in Poland which is advocating for OER policy and projects

What can we learn about community building, advocacy, and project implementation from these national initiatives? How can we foster closer collaboration between national projects to enable lessons learned to be easily shared? These questions and more will be discussed by the panel.
